The Pais Council for Culture and Art has published a call for support for designers through grants designed for a new, original project by a designer or a group of designers. The purpose of the voice call is to encourage personal, research-based and non-commercial creation of each of the design disciplines: product design, industrial design, graphic design, textile design, ceramic design, space design and more (except for fashion design and publishing of a book or catalog).

The grant is expected to be between NIS 40-60 thousand (including VAT) for each application approved. In total, grants are expected to be received between 8 and 12 designers a year. The support is intended for a personal, non-commercial project of designers with three or more years of experience, which will be completed by March 2021.

"The decision to open a new and designated support channel for design is the result of a long process and a change that the council underwent along with appeals and discussion with the field," says Doline Melnik, director of the Pais Council for Culture. "The Pais Council for Culture invites ideas from the public every year and is attentive to needs and trends. In recent years we have received quite a few requests from designers in various fields, who do not receive public support.
